Pathways to Business Banking Program

In the early 2000s, when the FACC was created, a growing number of Native-owned businesses encountered barriers to accessing bank loans for start-up costs, purchasing equipment, working capital, and lines of credit. When those businesses heard “no” from a bank, it stopped their growth opportunities from being realized. The credit standards of the mainstream banking industry, including capital and collateral, derailed many entrepreneurs and business owners from getting the funds they needed.

When banks say no, turn to the FACC since we have CDFI funds and other relationships to assist your business. When banks deny financing, it is usually related to the mainstream banking industry credit standards — sometimes referred to as the 5 Cs of credit — capacity, capital, collateral, character, and conditions.

FACC looks beyond those five Cs, providing multiple no-cost services and resources to help your business – e.g., counseling and coaching, to complement start-up and expansion loans ranging from $1,000 to $250,000. We work with you, helping you on a pathway towards qualifying for the credit standards of commercial banks.
